Well, reports suggest that Ford could be planning to re-launch itself in the Indian market with a next-generation EcoSport. The brand is likely to compete with the expanding market primarily rivalling the Tata Nexon. In addition to this, the SUV is also likely to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet SUVs.

Ford could be planning to revive itself in India as the brand has filed design patents for a new SUV in India. The old spy shot was during the era when Mahindra and Ford were planning to introduce SUVs under a joint venture.

Under the collaboration the brand’s were planning to launch an SUV iteration each. However, the both brand’s amicably split in 2021 due to the business conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the shortage of semiconductor chips.

The spy image circulating on the internet is from 2020, features the front grille of what looks like a production ready SUV. The grille with a concave studded effect features Ford’s logo in the centre and sleek LED DRLs on its sides. The spy shot also reveals that the SUV comes with a bumper mounted headlamp unit and sculpted front bumper.

In addition to this, the SUV also appears to get flared wheel arches and plenty of cuts and crease lines. The design patent of the SUV also appears to get multispoke alloy wheels. Furthermore, the design patent of the SUV also appears to get a wraparound tail lamp.
