Ford has launched the new EcoSport ‘SE’ trim starting at INR 10.49 lakh ex-showroom which now gives its customers the option of two distinct body styles to choose from. The Ford EcoSport SE features design cues that reverberate with the EcoSport sold in the European and North American market and comes without a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. The Ford EcoSport SE is based on the Titanium trim and comes in both petrol and diesel options with the Petrol SE priced at INR 10.49 lakh ex-showroom while the Diesel comes with a sticker price of INR 10.99 lakh ex-showroom.
The Ford EcoSport SE now comes with an easy-to-use puncture kit that enables the customer to fix a puncture without having to remove the wheel from its slot. The damaged tyre can be repaired in minutes which is otherwise a time-consuming process. The Ford EcoSport SE also comes with comfort and convenience features such as a 9-inch touchscreen with Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as Ford Pass integration for advanced connectivity. Ford Pass is a factory-fitted cloud-connected device, that enables the user to perform several vehicle operations such as starting the engine, stopping the engine, locking or unlocking the car remotely using the Ford Pass App on the mobile phone.
The new EcoSport SE follows the design language of the EcoSport SUVs sold in the American and European market giving it a distinctive design. The tailgate comes with a high mounted number plate, dual-tone rear bumper, silver skid plate finish on the lower bumper, a robust radiator grille, 16-inch alloy wheels and features such as automatic HID headlamps, daytime running lights, electrochromic mirror, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start and a sunroof.
Powering the Ford EcoSport SE is a BS6 emission-compliant 1.5-litre three-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine that makes 122 PS of power and 149 Nm of torque and a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDCi turbo-diesel engine that produces 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The brand also claims that the Ford EcoSport is one the least expensive compact SUVs to maintain with just INR 21,754 (36 paise per kilometre) to maintain over a 60,000-km or five-year ownership cycle for the Petrol model. Ford also offers the EcoSport with a 100,000-km or 3-year
warranty.
