Ford India has increased the price range of its vehicles in the Indian market. The Ford Figo Aspire is now INR 3,000 more expensive than the previous model. The Figo and Freestyle both come with a hike of INR 18,000 on the ex-showroom price. All the trims on the Ford EcoSport are now INR 20,000 more expensive. The brand’s flagship SUV in India will also cost INR 80,000 more on top of the ex-showroom price. Last year in May, the brand increased INR 44,000 on the Ford Endeavour in the Indian market.
The brand recently launched the Ford EcoSport SE in the Indian market at the price of INR 10.49 lakh ex-showroom. The price now starts at INR 10.69 lakh ex-showroom. The Ford EcoSport SE comes with a new tailgate design that does not have a spare wheel and comes with an easy-to-use puncture kit. The EcoSport SE also comes with 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with Ford’s SYNC 3, a factory-fitted cloud-connected device, Ford Pass App, etc.
Powering the EcoSport SE is a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The three-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine makes 122 PS of power and 149 Nm of torque. The four-cylinder TDCi turbo-diesel motor makes 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque. Ford offers both engines with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Ford offers the EcoSport with a 100,000-km or 3-year warranty and an easy maintenance package priced at INR 21,754 (36 paise per kilometre).
Rumours are that the American brand is planning to strengthen its SUV portfolio in the Indian market. The brand could be evaluating the Ford Territory, a five-seater SUV for India. The 4.5-metre long SUV features a contemporary design and comes with sleek LED headlamps, LED taillamps, butch looks on the front and a raked rear windscreen on the rear. The Ford Territory is likely to come with a 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine. This motor produces 143 PS of power and 225 Nm of torque.
