Force Motors’ Mobile Dispensary checks 1,11,679 patients in 26 days for Covid-19

India has been battling with the CoronaVirus outbreak and till date, the country has 20,835 active cases, 6,184 cured/discharged and 872 who succumbed to COVID-19. While the country is under a strict lockdown and social distancing policies have been deployed the health care personnel are under tremendous pressure in these trying times. 

To help relieve this pressure from the medical staff and doctors Pune-based automobile manufacturing company Force Motors is working in cooperation with the Bhartiya Jain Sanghatan (BJS, Pune) and have initiated a door-step dispensary facility in Maharashtra called “Doctor Aplya Daari”.  

The mobile dispensary service came into effect from 1st April 2020 with 30 Mobile Dispensary Vans equipped with Doctors, support staff and medicines. The mobile dispensary moves around according to a pre-determined schedule in the economically weaker localities of Pune and PCMC. The medical staff in the dispensaries are fully equipped and trained to detect COVID-19 symptoms and direct the infected suspects to designated hospitals.

In the case of Maharashtra which has become a hotspot of COVID-19 pandemic, the state has registered 7,628 confirmed cases with 1,076 recovered from the CoronaVirus and 323 deceased. As of now the brand has employed 50 mobile dispensaries that can check 2500 people per day and symptoms of around 500 people can be monitored in a day. 

Over 1,11,679 patients have been checked and more than 1,070 COVID-19 infected suspects have been transferred to Government hospitals, in the last 26 days. The Doctors in the mobile units also monitor patients with cold and flu symptoms as well as spread awareness to prevent the virus spread. 

Furthermore, Dr Abhay Firodia Group, of which Force Motors is the flagship company, has allocated INR 25 Crores to support COVID-19 relief activities including upgrading health care infrastructure, improving blood collection capability, expediting mobile clinic/testing capabilities and providing free food to the needy.

Force Motors does not charge for the prescriptions or the medicines that are given out to the patients and will run the service until the COVID-19 pandemic is fully contained.
