Fiat is all set to launch the Avventura crossover in the first half of October 2014. Fiat assumes that the festive season sentiment will help them push out maximum sales for the new vehicle.
The Avventura will be offered in two engine options; a 1.4L, 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 89 BHP and 115 Nm and a 1.3L, 4-cylinder diesel motor producing 92 BHP and 209 Nm. Both the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
As we all know, and it is visible, the Avventura is based on the Punto hatchback and was first revealed at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. On the exteriors, the Avventura is beefed up with a muscular body kit with black cladding all-round, higher ground clearance, revised front and rear bumpers, prominent front grille, roof rails, projector headlamps, tail gate mounted spare wheel and diamond cut alloy wheels.
On the inside, it is a familiar territory if you have been inside a Punto Evo or the facelift Linea. Additions include a console on top of the dashboard at the centre which displays data such as compass, inclinometer and roll-and-tilt meter. You also get different seat upholstery, ambient lighting and a little more colours splashed around.
Petrol version will be available only in the base Active and top Emotion variants while the diesel powered version will be available in all three, Active, Dynamic and Emotion variants.
