Exclusive: Benelli considering ABS for India in 2015

The current range of Benelli motorcycles to be launched in India in a couple of weeks have a lot of soul, and look brilliant. But they lack one very important feature going by segment standards – ABS!

In an exclusive interview with the Benelli team on Monday, we have been informed that the company is accounting for the safety feature very seriously in the Indian market. Chances are, by late 2015, ABS could be provided either as an option of standard on the higher capacity Benelli motorcycles.

At a fractional increase in price, we are sure people would prefer to ride back home on a bike over 100 horses getting stopping power supported by an ABS system.

The company hasn’t revealed exactly which motorcycle, the TNT 899 or TNT 1130R will get ABS, but going forward, there is a good chance of both the bikes getting the added safety feature.

Braking power on the higher range Benelli motorcycles already comes from a Brembo setup, and ABS is expected to add more to the rider confidence.
