Envision Solar International, Inc., a San Diego based sustainable electric charging and storage infrastructure manufacturer has announced the launch of a next-generation EV ARC 2020 (Electric Vehicle Autonomous Renewable Charger) which is the world’s only permanent but transportable EV charging station which can provide charging solutions off-grid.
The EV ARC 2020 is the upgraded version of the EV ARC which is a solar-powered electric vehicle charging station. The new-generation infrastructure has been re-engineered with an S-curved column that houses the electrical components, electric energy storage, and its tracking system under the large canopy that houses the solar energy soaking panels.
The high mounted off-the-ground electrical components allow the EV ARC 2020 to be flood-proof to up to 9.5 feet. The energy storage units are high up allow more parking space on the ballast pads on which the car is parked for charging. The solar canopy also provides shade to the car parked under it while it gets charged.
The EV ARC 2020 is equipped with the brand’s EnvisionTrak 360-degree sun tracking system which ensures that the solar canopy is absorbing sunlight no matter the orientation. The patented sun-tracking system claims to absorb 25% more energy than a fixed array system. This sun-tracking technology also allows the EV ARC charging station to be deployed in angled parking, parallel parking or perpendicular parking spaces.
The EV ARC system provides Level 1, Level 2 and DC fast charging solutions all under one roof. The EV ARC generates enough clean solar energy to power up to 360 km of EV driving in a day. While the DC Fast Charging system can produce around 1,770 km equivalent energy per day.
The manufacturer claims that the EV ARC 2020 does not require any construction or permitting. The system can be deployed in a short time and does not attract any utility bills.
The electric vehicle technology is certainly the way of the future but only if the electric vehicles are powered by renewable energy systems such as the solar-powered EV ARC, it will be a true push towards green eco-friendly technologies and sustainability.
