Harley-Davidson has revealed the full specs on the brand’s all-electric prototype ‘Livewire’ which is expected to go into production soon. In terms of performance, the all-electric motorcycle is likely to get a ‘Harley-Davidson Revelation’ permanent magnet electric motor which develops 103.5 BHP of power and 116.6 Nm of torque which makes the Livewire the most powerful in the brand’s line-up with an acceleration time of 3 seconds from 0-100 kmph.
The battery on the Livewire is likely to be a 13.6kWh which can deliver a range of around 225 km on a single charge in the city or around 142 km with a combined highway and stop-and-go traffic. The Livewire can be charged using two options – a Level 1 home charger which uses a standard household socket and charges the batteries to a full charge in about 8 hours and the second option is the Level 3 DC fast charger which can charge the battery to up to 80% in 40 minutes and it takes about an hour to achieve a full state of charge.
In terms of the mechanical hardware, the bike is likely to feature upside-down fully adjustable Showa front fork and a fully adjustable Showa rear monoshock suspension, twin-disc hydraulic brakes with radial mounted Brembo callipers, a perimeter frame, multispoke alloy wheels, an aluminium swingarm, etc.
The Livewire is equipped with a 10.9 cm, full-colour, customisable, touchscreen instruments console which shows the state of charge, speed, range along with music, turn-by-turn navigation, alert notification, etc. The electronics package also includes Electronic Chassis Control system which manages the ABS, Traction Control System and Drag-Torque Slip Control System by modulating the torque available on the rear wheel. The Electronic Chassis Control system employs ABS sensors and Six-Axis Inertial Measurement Unit and combines electronic controls and hydraulics where required.
Some features on the production model may vary and if launched in India the Harley-Davidson Livewire is likely to be priced around INR 25,00,000 and above.
