Mahindra announces the launch of its electric auto Treo in Maharashtra. This electric three-wheeler will come with a sticker price of INR 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This is the price in the state of Maharashtra, including all state and early-bird subsidies. In the electric three-wheeler segment, Mahindra Treo currently has a market share of 67 per cent. Mahindra claims that the rider can save up to INR 2,00,000 in 5 years while riding the Treo.
Alongside this, Mahindra also claims that this auto also offers best-in-industry performance, with the highest power of 8 kW and best-in-industry slope climbing ability of 12.7 degrees. In terms of maintenance, Mahindra mentioned that Treo would cost about 50 paise per km, which is quite attractive. Since the launch of the auto, Mahindra has already sold more than 13,000 units of these.
To attract more customers, Mahindra is offering a slew of financial benefits with the rickshaw. This includes a low-down payment scheme of just INR 41,500 from Mahindra Finance and a low-interest rate scheme of only 10.8 per cent from the State Bank of India. Furthermore, customers can also avail themselves of an exchange bonus of INR 7,500.
The equipped battery is an advanced lithium-ion type that is IP65-rated. This ensures both dust and water protection. Furthermore, this lithium-ion battery also ensures zero maintenance with hassle-free running of more than 1,50,000 km. The usable riding range of 130 km/charge is pretty much sufficient for an entire day’s trip. To ensure a seamless charging experience, Mahindra has equipped the rickshaw with a charger compatible with a 16A socket.
Riders will also appreciate the space inside the rickshaw, all thanks to a wide wheelbase of 2,073 mm. To further enhance the riding experience, Mahindra Treo also gets side doors, thus ensuring much safer rides. To enable peace of mind, Mahindra Treo comes with a standard warranty of 3 years and 80,000 km, with an option to extend the warranty to 5 years and 1,00,000 km.
