At the 110th edition of the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Royal Enfield unveiled its latest offering, the Classic 650 Twin. This new model is the heaviest motorcycle in the company’s lineup, weighing in at 243 kg.
The Classic 650 Twin retains the iconic design elements of the Classic 350, including the signature round headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and round fenders. However, it also features several enhancements to distinguish it from its smaller sibling. These include a larger 14.8-litre fuel tank, dual exhaust pipes, and wider rear fenders. The bike is available in four color options: Teal, Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, and Black Chrome.
Under the hood, the Classic 650 Twin is powered by a 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine, which produces 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch, providing a smooth and responsive riding experience. The bike features dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety and a semi-digital console with Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation system.
Royal Enfield CEO B Govindarajan stated, “The Classic is what keeps us rooted and real to our philosophy of pure motorcycling. The new Classic 650 not only upholds and embodies this spirit, it serves it up in a double measure on our world-class 650 Twin platform.” The company expects the Classic 650 Twin to resonate deeply with customers, thanks to its fine craftsmanship, majestic road presence, and refined powertrain.
The Classic 650 Twin is set to be launched in India at the Royal Enfield Motoverse event in Goa later this month. The company has already announced that bookings for the model will commence in January 2025.
With the introduction of the Classic 650 Twin, Royal Enfield continues to expand its premium motorcycle lineup. The new model’s combination of retro styling and modern features is expected to attract a wide range of customers, further solidifying Royal Enfield’s position in the premium motorcycle segment.
