Honda unveiled the new CB750 Hornet at the EICMA 2024 show, showcasing a refreshed design and advanced features aimed at enhancing performance and rider experience. The updated Hornet is part of Honda’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the supersport segment.
The new CB750 Hornet features a bold, new look with a sleek, aerodynamic design. The front end is dominated by a new LED projector headlight, giving it a modern appearance similar to mid to late noughties nakeds, such as Kawasaki’s Z750. The bike also sports a new cockpit cowling and a five-inch TFT display with smartphone compatibility via Honda RoadSync.
For the powertrain, the CB750 Hornet is powered by Honda’s 755cc parallel-twin engine, which produces 90.5 bhp and 75.11 Nm of torque. The engine features an 8v SOHC configuration and a 270-degree crank for a more engaging riding experience. The bike is equipped with a six-speed gearbox and an Akrapovic exhaust for improved performance.
The new Hornet boasts a steel frame combined with a Showa fork offering 130mm of travel and a rear shock absorber with 150mm of travel. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with high-performance tires. Braking duties are handled by twin discs at the front with radially mounted Brembo calipers and a disc brake at the rear. It will also be equipped with dual-channel ABS and traction control for added safety.
Honda aims to capture the high-performance supersport market with the new CB750 Hornet. It goes up against the liked of the Kawasaki Z750 and the KTM Duke 790. Honda has just started bringing in their big bikes to India through the BigWing dealerships. Since the Transalp 750 is already on sale, there is good chance that the big Hornet will make its way to our shores. However, pricing will be crucial as this will probable come as a CBU.
