Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the Karizma XMR 250 at the EICMA 2024 show, marking an entry in the competitive 250 cc market in India. This new model is a fully-faired sports bike designed to offer enhanced performance and a more aggressive look compared to its predecessors.
The Karizma XMR 250 is powered by a newly developed 250 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine produces 30 bhp and 25 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Karizma model to date. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch, ensuring smooth and responsive gear shifts.
The bike features a steel trellis frame for added strength and durability. The front suspension consists of USD forks, while the rear suspension is a monoshock with six levels of adjustability. The braking system includes a single disc at both ends with switchable dual-channel ABS, providing reliable stopping power.
Visually, the Karizma XMR 250 stands out with its sharp, fully-faired design. The front fairing integrates winglets below the LED headlight, adding to its sporty aesthetics. The bike also features LED DRLs, a TFT display, and height-adjustable clip-on handlebars for a comfortable riding position.
Hero MotoCorp has positioned the Karizma XMR 250 as a competitor to other 250cc sports bikes in the market, such as the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, KTM RC 200 and the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. The bike is expected to be launched in India by mid-2025, with prices estimated to be around INR 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
With its powerful engine, advanced features, and aggressive styling, the Karizma XMR 250 is set to make a strong impression in the sports bike segment. Would it be able to make its mark in the competitive 250 cc segment? Stay tuned to find out.
