The 2024 EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) has been a showcase of innovation and excitement, and Aprilia has added to the buzz with the unveiling of its new Aprilia Tuareg Rally adventure bike.
The Aprilia Tuareg Rally is a hardcore off-road version of the standard Tuareg 660, designed to tackle the most challenging terrains. It features a 659 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 80 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 70 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The bike comes with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch for smooth gear changes.
The Rally variant boasts several performance upgrades, including a 52 mm throttle body (up from 48 mm), a new engine map, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The bike is equipped with SC Project titanium exhaust for enhanced performance and a distinct sound. The suspension setup includes fully adjustable 43 mm Kayaba forks with 240 mm of wheel travel and stiffer springs for better handling on rough terrain.
Cosmetically, the Tuareg Rally features a Rally replica livery with anodized gold forks, handlebar, and wheels. The seat height has been increased to 880 mm, and the handlebar is taller for improved control. The bike also includes hand guards, a high fender, and a robust skid plate for added protection.
The Tuareg Rally is aimed at adventure enthusiasts and off-road riders who demand durability and performance. With a kerb weight of 199 kg, it is 5 kg lighter than the standard Tuareg 660, enhancing its agility and responsiveness.
At EICMA 2024, Aprilia also unveiled the Tuono 457, a naked streetfighter based on the RS 457 platform. The Tuono 457 features a 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 47.6 bhp and 43.5 Nm of torque. It boasts a fully redesigned front-end, adjustable suspension, and a suite of features including a TFT display and rider aids. The bike is expected to be launched in India early next year.
