After doing rounds of the rumour mill, the much-anticipated Aprilia Tuono 457 was officially unveiled at the EICMA 2024, marking a significant milestone for the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. This new model is expected to make its way to India in early 2025, generating excitement among motorcycle enthusiasts in the country.
The Tuono 457 is a naked streetfighter version of the RS 457, sharing the same 457 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. This engine delivers an impressive 46.9 bhp at 9,400 rpm and 43.5 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm. The bike is equipped with a six-speed gearbox and a quickshifter, ensuring a smooth and responsive riding experience.
Visually, the Tuono 457 stands out with its unique design. The front end features a vertically stacked LED headlight setup with LED DRLs on the sides, giving it a striking appearance. The large fuel tank extensions and exposed mainframe and engine casing add to its rugged look. The underbelly exhaust setup further enhances its streetfighter appeal.
In terms of features, the Tuono 457 comes with LED illumination, a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, traction control, ABS modes, and engine maps. The hardware includes USD front forks with preload adjustability and a monoshock, providing a comfortable ride. The braking system consists of a single front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS, mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Aprilia is expected to showcase the Tuono 457 at the India Bike Week 2024 in Goa, with a launch likely to follow soon after. Once launched, the Tuono 457 will compete with popular models like the KTM 390 Duke, Yamaha MT-03, and BMW G 310 R.
