VE Commercial Vehicle Limited today announces the launch of an all-new Coach and Sleeper bus range. VE is a joint venture of Volvo and Eicher that started way back in 2008. These custom-built buses aim to set a new benchmark for bus travel in the country. VE mentioned that this is the first time that they are targeting the mid-premium and premium segment. Furthermore, the company also mentioned that these buses would provide the best-in-class quality along with high reliability and durability.
One of the main advantages of this range of vehicles is its high operator ROI. The use of an aerodynamic exterior body helps in achieving higher fuel efficiency. In the interior department as well, VE is making use of premium quality parts. The VEDX5 engine of the Volvo group coupled with the Eicher Groups’s 6016 R LPO chassis provides adequate reliability and power. The driver of these buses will also appreciate the ergonomically designed dashboard and controls.
The engine performance figure stands at 210 HP and 825 Nm of torque. This is a fully air-conditioned cabin that can seat a total of 43 passengers. The 11.3 cubic meters of luggage space is best-in-class. The sleeper version can accommodate over 30 luxurious berths. This helps in maximising safety and offers 6.5 cubic meters of luggage space. To ensure complete privacy, the berths get full-height partitions. Features like Cruise Control, Fuel Coaching, Mbooster+ and Intelligent Engine Protection systems make this bus range a preferred choice for intercity, route permit and staff applications.
Passengers get convenient features like USB ports, reading lights, speakers, AC louvres and infotainment systems are standard offerings. In addition to this, the coach’s theatre type saloon seating and pushback seats will keep the passengers at their utmost comfort. This range of buses will support Eicher India’s service network of more than 500 touchpoints. These touchpoints offer one-stop-shop solutions for both chassis and body service requirements.
