Ducati has updated its Streetfighter V4. The naked bike gets a few functional upgrades for the 2023 model year. The Streetfighter is nothing but an unfaired version of the Panigale V4.
The 2023 Ducati Streetfighter now gets a larger 17-litre fuel tank with a revised design that offers better braking and cornering support. It gets a new Grey Nero paints shade as well.
Ducati’s mental naked motorcycle, the Streetfighter V4, has received a set of updates for 2023, aimed at making the bike more capable than it ever was. To the uninitiated, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 is, in essence, a Panigale V4, minus the fairing committed riding position and the same peak power outputs. Nevertheless, the bike still remains a 200hp+ machine.
In terms of chassis, the bike retains the previous model’s underpinnings save for one difference. The rear swingarm gets a 4mm higher pivot point. This will improve the bike’s anti-squat, allowing the rider to power through a corner much better.
One of the major upgrades for the bike is in the electronics department. The Streetfighter now gets five ride modes – Full, High, Medium, Low and Wet. In the Low mode, power is curtailed to 165 HP from 208 HP. It also dulls the throttle response. There has been a new Wet mode to improve the ride on wet or damp surfaces.
The Streetfighter V4 S weighs 197.5 kg, compared to the V4’s 201.5 kg. The S gets forged Marchesinis and a Lithium-ion battery (lighter by 1.7 kg).
The driver display gets a new Track Evo layout inspired by Ducati’s MotoGP bikes. It offers all the information needed while riding on a track.
The Ducati Quick Shifter gets a new software patch for smoother gearshifts. The radiator fan software, too, is tweaked to help the bike remain cooler when ridden at slower speeds, especially in traffic.
The Streetfighter gets the same potent Desmosedici Stradale engine that generates a peak power of 208 HP. Stopping duties are handled by Brembo Stylemas (R on the SP 2) that were on last year’s bike.
While Ducati India is expected to launch the updated Panigale V4/ V4 S in India, there is no word yet on the launch of the SP 2 variant. However, it is possible that a few units could be allocated for the Indian market.
