Ducati reveals new Diavel V4 pumping 168 HP

Ducati has revealed the new Diavel V4. While currently available in the international markets, the bike is expected to be launched in India soon.

Ducati Diavel V4 design

The styling on the Diavel V4 has been revised, yet unmistakably identifiable as a Diavel. It gets a single-sided swing arm at the back, which houses a massive 240/45-section rear wheel. The headlights on the Diavel V4 are an all-new design. It also gets quad exhaust pipes on one side, new design alloy wheels and an LED taillight. These features distinguish the V4 from the V2 version.

Ducati’s V4 Granturismo engine

The Diavel now gets the V4 Granturismo engine. After serving the Panigale, Streetfighter, and the Multistrada, it now comes to the Diavel family. It is a 1,158cc, liquid-cooled V4 engine. It produces a peak power of 168 HP @10,750 rpm and 126 Nm of maximum torque at 7,500 rpm.

Improvements on the Diavel V4

The Diavel V4 is now lighter by 13 kg than the Diavel 1260. This has improved Diavel’s power-to-weight ratio. In terms of maintenance, the bike features a major service interval of 60,000 km. The engine also gets cylinder deactivation technology for improved fuel efficiency. It turns off the rear bank when the bike is stopped or being ridden at slow speeds.

The Diavel V4 also has 50mm upside-down front forks, a cantilever rear shock absorber and Brembo Stylema callipers, and dual front disk brakes.

Electronics on the Diavel V4

The Diavel V4 gets three power modes, four riding modes, traction control with a cornering function, launch control and wheelie control. The bike also gets cruise control and a bi-directional quick shifter. That said, it doesn’t get Multistrada’s adaptive cruise control. It also gets a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth Connectivity.

Availability of the Diavel V4

Starting January 2023, the Diavel V4 will be available in Europe, and the USA deliveries will commence by February 2023. It will be offered in two colour options – Classic Ducati Red or Thrilling Black.
