Italian Superbike manufacturer Ducati has teased us with a partial image of the new Panigale V2 indicating its launch in India, which may happen in the coming months. The Ducati Panigale V2 was showcased at the EICMA 2019 in Milan Italy. The new Ducati Panigale V2 replaces the Panigale 959 in the brand’s model line-up and draws its design cues from the elder Panigale V4.
In terms of styling, the Ducati Panigale V2 features a sharp aerodynamic front nose with twin split headlamp units, LED daytime running lamps, bubble windscreen, 4.3-inch full-colour TFT instruments display, split seats with a raised tail section and mid-ship exhaust.
The Panigale V2 is powered by a 955cc Superquadro, liquid-cooled, L-twin-cylinder equipped with a 4-valve per cylinder Desmodromic valve-train, electronic fuel injection system, twin injectors per cylinder and full ride-by-wire elliptical throttle bodies that produces 155 hp of power and 104 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed transmission with bi-directional Ducati Quick Shift (DQS EVO) and a hydraulically controlled slipper and self-servo wet multi-plate clutch.
In terms of mechanical hardware, the Ducati Panigale V2 comes with an aluminium monocoque chassis that rides on 43mm chrome-lined fully adjustable Showa Big Piston Fork on the front and a fully adjustable Sachs unit on the rear-mounted on the aluminium single-sided swingarm. The bike rides on 17-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels shod with 120/70 front and 180/60 rear Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II rubber. Stopping power comes from 320mm twin brakes on the front with Brembo Monobloc callipers on the front and 245mm single disc on the rear with Bosch cornering ABS.
The new Ducati Panigale V2 also features an impressive electronics package with a plethora of safety features including Riding Modes, Power Modes, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO, Auto tyre calibration, Sachs steering damper, Auto-off indicators etc.
The new Ducati Panigale V2 is estimated to be priced around the INR 16 lakh mark.
