Ducati Multistrada reaches 100,000 production mark with 1260 Pikes Peak model

The Ducati Multistrada motorcycle has been on sale for more than 16 years and now, the brand has crossed the 100,000 production milestone for this adventure tourer model. The bike which was the 100,000th unit produced was a Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak version. Ducati placed a custom laser marking on the top of the yoke of this motorcycle to mark its significance and this piece and the bike was delivered by the Ducati CEO laudio Domenicali.

The Multistrada motorcycle has been a definitive motorcycle in the industry with riding modes being introduced in 2010 and the D|Air variant coming in 2014 which was the first motorcycle in the world which could connect with an airbag-equipped jacket. Ducati also introduced variable valve timing on the 2015 model with the Testastretta DVT technology.

As of date, Ducati has the Multistrada 1260 & 950 models on sale, and they are also available in showroms in India. The Multistrada 950 has a power output of 115 HP while the 1260 motorcycle has 160 HP of power output. Ducati also checks the valve play of all their motorcycles every 30,000 km.

Ducati is currently developing a new Multistrada model for 2021 which will have a V4 engine capable of superior performance, unlike any Multistrada ever produced compared to the previous twin-cylinder siblings. Testing has already begun and we have already seen a few spyshots.

Ducati retails various models such as S, Enduro, Pikes Peak on the Multistrada range with varying off-road and on-road abilities.
