Ducati Lenovo Team ready for its 20th MotoGP season

Italian motorcycle racing team Ducati Lenovo has officially announced that it will participate in the 2022 MotoGP World Championship. Embarking on its 20th MotoGP season, the Borgo Panigale based squad will compete in the premier class of the championship. The team released a video on Ducati and Ducati Corse’s social media platforms, Ducati’s and MotoGP’s official websites and YouTube channels.

Upcoming Plans for the 2022 season 

The video showcases the team’s skill, dedication, and determination by showcasing its rich 20-year history in MotoGP Championships. It also retraces the best moments of the 2021 season achieved by their team riders, Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller. The former achieved 2nd with 9 podiums and 4 wins, whereas the latter secured 4th with 5 podiums and 2 wins. Additionally, the video highlights that both drivers will wear the Ducati factory team colours for their 2nd consecutive season in 2022.

The video continues with the behind-the-scenes images of the painting process for the 2022 bikes’ fairing with a new shade. For the very first time, the Desmosedici GP machines will feature the iconic “Ducati Red” colour scheme in MotoGP. This will match the colour scheme on the Borgo Panigale based manufacturer’s world-renowned production sportbikes and superbikes. The team unveiled the new liveries on 31 January 2022, prior to their debut in pre-season testing in Malaysia.

Sponsor & 2022 MotoGP Calendar Details 

For the 2022 season, the Ducati Lenovo Team will continue to utilise the valuable support from its title partner Lenovo. As a global leader in devices, services, infrastructure and solutions, Lenovo has been responsible for providing smart solutions for the team. It has been fundamental in enabling the team to achieve its success during the 2021 MotoGP Championship. The company will continue to work closely with Ducati Corse’s technical staff in 2022 to advance its “Remote Garage” Project.

This project will allow the team’s engineers to receive data from the bikes in real-time and interact with the garage remotely. From 11th-13 February, Ducati Lenovo Team riders will return to the track after Sepang for 3 days of testing. The track in question is the brand new Mandalika Street Circuit on the island of Lombok in Indonesia. The 2022 MotoGP championship’s calendar consists of 21 races, with the 1st race at the Losail International Circuit in Doha.
