Ducati has launched the XDiavel Black Star and the XDiavel Dark in the Indian market. The two new models enhance the BS6 range of motorcycles in the premium Italian brand’s portfolio in India. The Ducati XDiavel made its debut back in 2016 in the Indian market with a true power cruiser design and Ducati’s cutting edge performance and technology. The XDiavel blends the world of touring with Powersports by offering feet
forward ergonomics, relaxed riding and mind-boggling performance.
In the Indian market, the Ducati XDiavel Black Star comes with a price tag of INR 22.60 lakh ex-showroom. However, the XDiavel Dark edition is priced affordably at INR 18.00 lakh ex-showroom. The XDiavel Black Star boasts to bring out the sporty side of the Ducati cruiser. The bike features motorsports-inspired livery and equipment that appears to pluck the right strings in the hearts of Ducati enthusiasts. The colour theme features grey and matt black alternates along with red accents. Staying true to the X concept, the colour cuts appear clear and intersect. The Black Star also comes with a prominent red accent on the engine cover, evoking the sporty nature of the bike.
On the other hand, the XDiavel Dark features a matte black paint theme. According to the company, the first matte black Ducati made its debut in 1998 with the Ducati Monster 600 Dark. The new XDiavel Dark extends the theme to its mechanical components, plates, and finishes. Ducati calls this the “Reduce to the Max” design principle. According to the brand, this represents “purity, essentiality, and the gateway to the world of XDiavel.”
Powering the Ducati XDiavel is a 1262cc twin-cylinder Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 engine. The BS6 compliant engine comes with a new upgraded exhaust and a new engine calibration. Both the motorcycles produce 160 hp of power and 127.5 Nm of torque. This means compared to the BS4 version of the engine the power is up by 8 hp and the torque by 2 Nm.
The Ducati XDiavel Dark comes with 50mm upside-down forks, 320 mm semi-floating discs twin discs and Brembo M4.32 radial mono-bloc callipers. The XDiavel Black Star also gets the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) as standard.
As standard both motorcycles get LED headlamps, Riding Modes, Power Modes, Cornering ABS, and Ducati Traction Control.
