Earlier this year, Ducati had announced a slew of launches for the Indian market. One of those was the Multistrada V4 Rally. Now, the Italian bike maker has launched the adventure tourer bike in India. The motorcycle is available in two colours – Ducati Red and Brush Aluminium Matte Black and the price of this is set at INR 29.72 lakh, ex-showroom.
For starters, the new V4 Rally gets the same design as the rest of the Multristrada range. However, at the front it now gets a two-unit headlight, an adjustable visor, Radar system and another beak at bottom. The tank can be described as big and it gets sharp shrouds. These shrouds are fitted with vents that look like gills. Furthermore, the seat is also the same on the Rally and other variants.
A 6.5-inch driver display is used to convey all the relevant information to the rider. It supports smartphone connectivity.
The Rally variant comes powered with a 1,158 cc, V4 engine. This liquid-cooled motor develops 170 BHP @ 10,750 rpm and 121 Nm of peak torque @ 8,250 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. Riders will also benefit from a slipper and assist clutch along with four riding modes – Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro.
Other electronic aids include wheelie control, engine brake control, cruise control, traction control, vehicle hold control, radar assistance with blindspot detection, cornering ABS.
Ducati has introduced a new variant to the DesertX line-up. The new Rally model boasts of improved off-road abilities. Further, the bike gets a distinct visual identity as well to differentiate it from the rest of the line-up.
For starters, the bike now comes equipped with a tall front mudguard. This is in line with the dirt bikes which helps avoid the mud getting stuck between the wheel and the mudguard. The bike also gets a single piece seat along with an improved suspension.
Compared to the regular variants, the Rally model comes with a tall seat height of 910mm (standard 875mm). Owners can also configure their Rally variants with a low seat option that reduces the seat height to 885mm.
