Ducati launches Hypermotard 950 RVE & SP variants in India

Italian motorcycle brand Ducati has launched the new Hypermotard 950 range consisting of the 950 RVE and SP in India. Ducati has priced the Hypermotard 950 series at INR 12.99 Lakh (ex-showroom) and INR 16.24 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. With the 950 RVE and 950 SP, Ducati enables riders to have fun in the corners. Ducati has also ensured to offer the latest safety electronics on the bikes to help riders tackle the urban environment.

Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE & 950 SP: Design Details 

Ducati has drawn inspiration from the looks of the motards for its 950 RVE and 950 SP adventure bikes. Both bikes sport dual under-seat exhausts and exposed mechanical components such as the lightweight rear trellis frame. Taking inspiration from street art, Ducati has utilized a unique “Graffiti” livery on the new Hypermotard 950 RVE.

The brand previously showcased the Hypermotard 950 concept at the 2019 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, which achieved social media success. The bikes feature a motard-based riding position with an upright torso and wide elbows to provide enhanced vehicle control. With a 14.5-litre sculpted fuel tank, the bikes also feature a sharp front beak and dual under-tail silencers. To finish the look of the bikes, Ducati offers signature LED DRLs incorporated within the headlight.

Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE & 950 SP: Technical Specifications 

Powering the new Hypermotard 950 range is a reworked 937cc Ducati Testastretta, twin-cylinder motor producing 114 PS and 96 Nm. The current engine features new pistons with a 13.3:1 compression ratio and a new exhaust system compared to its predecessor. The bikes are paired to a 6-speed gearbox, and the bikes now feature a lighter clutch and gear shift drums for smoother gear shifts.

Ducati has used a new steel tubed Trellis frame for both bikes, reducing weight and enhancing agility. Both bikes feature three Y-spokes but the 950 RVE sports aluminium wheels, whereas the 950 PS uses lightweight forged Marchesini wheels. With 17-inch wheels, both bikes feature dual 320 mm front disc brakes with 4-piston Brembo callipers and Bosch ABS.

The 950 RVE features a 45 mm fully-adjustable, upside-down, front aluminium Marzocchi suspension and rear Sachs monoshock suspension. The 950 RVE showcases 170 mm and 150 mm of front and rear-wheel travel with an aluminium single-sided swingarm. The 950 SP sports a 48 mm, fully-adjustable, Ohlins front suspension and an Ohlins monoshock at the rear. The wheel travel on the front of the 950 SP is 185 mm and 175 mm for the rear.

Ducati has offered both bikes with a whole host of rider-focused features for performance and convenience. These include the latest safety electronics such as the Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, and Ducati Quick Shift. Both bikes also sport Sport, Touring, and Urban riding modes, which the rider can use depending on their needs. The bikes offer a coloured TFT instrumentation display sporting the Ducati Multimedia System for incoming calls and Bluetooth music streaming.
