Ducati has launched the new Hypermotard 698 Mono in the Indian market with a price tag of INR 16.50 lakh ex-showroom. The brand has revealed that the deliveries on the luxury single cylinder motorcycle will commence at the end of July 2024. The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono features Ducati’s unmistakable design language along with a lightweight chassis, a state-of-the-art engine and a highly sophisticated electronics package. In addition to this, the Hypermotard Mono also features comfortable ergonomics that are well-suited for both the racetrack as well as the city.
The thrillling supermotard-style motorcycle is powered by a Superquadro Mono, single-cylinder, 659 cc engine. The engine has been derived from the 1,285 cc Superquadro of the 1299 Panigale. The engine produces 77.5 Hp of power and 63 Nm of torque on a motorcycle that weighs just 151 kgs without fuel, keeping the rider on its toes. The 116 mm bore of that engine, which in itself is a record value for a road single-cylinder motorcycle has been retained and combined with a stroke of 62.4 mm to achieve the 659cc displacement.
The compact and lightweight motorcycle features a tubular steel trellis frame that weighs only 7.2 kgs and an aluminium double-sided swingarm. The motorcycle also comes with lightweight Marzocchi forks on the front that are fully adjustable, equipped with external adjusters. The 45mm upside-down front forks with aluminium sliders, weigh only 8.1 kg. In addition to this, the bike also comes with lightweight alloy wheels and a single 330mm Brembo brake disc on the front with an aluminium flange, 17% lighter when compared to a steel unit. The rear features a 240mm disc with a dedicated design.
