Diesel variants of Hyundai Grand i10 discontinued

With the Grand i10 Nios now in showrooms, it is obvious that the old Hyundai Grand i10 is at the end of its life cycle. However, the brand continues to sell it to new car buyers, but now without the option of a diesel engine. Hyundai has discontinued all diesel variants of the old Grand i10 due to the pricing overlap with the Grand i10 Nios. For now, the old Grand i10 can be had in a petrol option along with the bi-fuel petrol+CNG model as well.

The 1.2L Kappa series petrol motor produces 83 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 11.6 kgm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox in the petrol-only version. The same motor with a petrol+CNG bi-fuel kit produces 66.3 PS of power @ 5600 RPM and the same amount of torque, again matched to the same 5-speed gearbox.

Pricing for the old Hyundai Grand i10 now starts at INR 5.79 lakh and goes all the way up to INR 6.50 lakh ex-showroom. The older model still is a very high quality hatchback compared to rivals which include the Tata Tiago. There is no top of the line Asta variant available now and the Grand i10 tops out at the Sportz variant.
