A diamond merchant from Surat has given the largest ever order to Fiat for 455 units of the Punto Evo hatchback.
This might be the biggest ever order Fiat India has received in its recent manufacturing history. Also, this order was not to fulfill fleet cars or ply them for company purpose; but the diamond merchant offered these hatchbacks as a diwali bonus to its employees.
The company, Hari Krishna Exports gifted 455 Fiat Punto cars, 200 flats and jewellery items worth Rs. 50 crores to its 1200 employees.
The Fiat Punto order comprised of 190 units of the 1.2L petrol powered hatchback while 265 units of the 1.3L diesel powered hatchback were ordered. Cars offered were in either white or grey exterior body colour.
