Datsun has introduced the most affordable CVT automatic cars in the Indian market. In a segment where cost-effect AMT gearbox is the norm, Datsun has gone ahead in offering a superior CVT automatic transmission. The Go hatchback and Go+ station-wagon now come in CVT variants and will be sold in 2 variants each. Pricing is as follows:
Both cars come matched to the same engine and gearbox combination. The Go & Go+ CVT variants have a 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol motor which produces 67 BHP of peak power and 104 Nm of peak torque matched to the continuously variable transmission. The CVT gearbox delivers a jerk free driving experience unlike the AMT which proves to be slow to respond. The CVT gearbox would effectively prove to be smoother in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Features common to both the Go & Go+ CVT automatic variants includes 14″ dual tone alloy wheels and LED DRLs on the outside. Inside, the cars come with a touchscreen infotainment system and safety features such as dual airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, reverse parking sensors and follow-me-home headlights.
Both the Go & Go+ CVT variants will be sold in a total of 6 body colour options which include red, blue, grey, orange, silver and white.
The Datsun Go hatchback rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto, Renault Kwid, Hyundai Santro and the likes. The Go offers good value for money in terms of the space that is on offer as per A-segment hatchbacks. The Go+ is a unique MPV which goes unrivaled at the moment. The closest competition to the Datsun Go+ with a 7-seat layout is the Renault Triber which was launched recently, but comes at a higher price tag.
