Crayon Motors has announced its partnership with Bounce Infinity. As a part of this collaboration, they aim to establish the first interoperated battery-swapping network. Crayon Motors’ customers can now choose to buy a 2W or 3W without a battery and make use of Bounce Infinity’s Battery-as-a-Service. This smart solution will have its presence across Crayon Motors’ dealerships, petrol bunks, residential complexes, cafes, co-living spaces, restaurants, kirana stores, corporate offices, etc.
This service will power both low-powered and high-powered 2-wheelers manufactured by Crayon. Bounce confirmed that these stations will always have charged and ready-to-go batteries. Thus a rider can easily swap with their near-empty batteries in under a few minutes. Battery swapping is the perfect alternative to conventional socket charging. Customers wouldn’t have to wait for their vehicles to charge, thus saving a lot of time.
With this partnership, Crayon will aim to expand to other regions. Currently, the EV segment is booming, but there are also some gaps in the charging infrastructure. Thus Crayon Motors will leverage this partnership to set up a viable charging network. Bounce’s battery swapping setup is quite famous and robust. This innovative alternative to conventional socket charge could also prove pivotal in shaping the EV segment in the country.
The battery swapping approach is best for riders facing range anxiety. To have access to a fully charged battery, riders will have no worries about the battery getting depleted. Riders can spot a battery-swapping station and replace their depleted one with a fully charged one. This is a much more convenient and time-saving approach. Bounce will also extend its “Battery-as-a-Service” to Crayon’s sister 3W brand – “Singham”. This is the electric 3W sub-brand of Crayon. The collaboration will allow Singham vehicles to be now sold under a new variant – E-Rickshaw with Battery-as-a-Service.
