German technology company Continental that specializes in automotive components, powertrains, electronics, automotive safety components, chassis, tachographs and tyres has introduced its range of generation 6 tyres in the Indian market for the passenger car in India. The generation 6 tyres from Continental come in the form of UltraContact UC6 and ComfortContact CC6 range that has been designed to cope with the challenging road conditions of the country.
According to the brand, the UltraContact UC6 and ComfortContact CC6 range has been designed based on the needs and driving habits of the Indian customer. The generation 6 tyres have been optimised to deliver improved fuel efficiency, greater comfort, higher safety and lower noise levels, improving the overall noise, vibration and harshness of the vehicle.
The UltraContact UC6 tyres are specially designed for maximum control on wet roads as well as dry conditions and feature an aqua channel to expel water and ensure a maximum contact patch. The UltraContact UC6 also features a chamfered angle of the Diamond Edge in the pattern maximizes the contact area to distribute braking distance, this diamond pattern also acts as a wiper during rains clearing the film of water away.
The UC6 tyres comprise of Diamond Blend Compound consists of two polymer types. The short grip polymers are activated during cornering and braking and the long polymers ensure the high mileage performance. The UltraContact UC6 is available for rims with diameters from 14 to 17 inches, covering a wide range of passenger vehicles in the Indian market.
The ComfortContact CC6 provides low noise level, higher comfort, and lower rolling resistance enabling higher fuel efficiency and resistance to wear. The CC6 tyres employ three revolutionary technologies – Harmonic Comfort Chambers, 0 dB-Eaters, and Whisper Compound that have noise-cancelling chambers. The CC6 tires are available for rims with diameters of 13 to 15 inches.
The generation 6 flagship range, UltraContact UC6 and ComfortContact CC6 will be produced at Continental’s Modipuram plant in India.
