While the Modi-led government is bringing down fuel prices for diesel and petrol, also due to the drop in international crude prices Mumbai city gar distributor Mahanagar Gas Ltd. however has increased the rates of CNG. Prices have gone up by Rs. 4.50 to Rs. 43.45 / kg and domestic piped natural gas (PNG) has gone up by Rs. 2.49.
What does this mean for manufacturers offering cars with dual-fuel kits? Petrol prices have been dropped by ~ Rs. 9 over the past couple of months and also, diesel prices have been reduced twice this month. With increasing costs of CNG, does it still work as a cheaper alternative fuel?
Will customers continue to opt for CNG powered vehicles?
