CNG motorcycle from Bajaj could be launched in June 2024

In a move that is expected to revolutionize the two-wheeler industry, Bajaj Auto has confirmed the launch of its first-ever Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) motorcycle in June 2024. The announcement was made by Rajiv Bajaj, CEO of Bajaj Auto. The motorcycle will most likely be called the ‘Bruzer’.

A Game-Changer in Fuel Efficiency

The upcoming CNG motorcycle is anticipated to be a game-changer, particularly when it comes to fuel efficiency. With CNG prices being considerably lower than petrol, riders can expect substantial savings on their daily commutes. The motorcycle is likely to offer performance similar to that of a 110cc petrol-powered bike.

Bajaj Bruzer Design and Features

The Bajaj Bruzer will likely feature a minimalistic commuter motorcycle design. It could get a long and flat single-piece seat to fit in the CNG cylinder underneath it. To access the CNG tank’s valve, there will be a large panel gap on the fuel tank that will probably open up like a lid. Also, the bike will likely get a small petrol tank for emergencies.

The bike is expected to get a raised handlebar which is also braced and comes fitted with hand guards. The gearbox would have a heel and toe shifter and the bike could comes with mid-set footpegs. The handlebar footpeg position should ensure a comfortable, upright riding posture.

Braking duties will be handled by a front disc and rear drum setup and suspension-wise, it is expected to get a telescopic fork and a monoshock. The Bruzer may come fitted with alloys and a stubby, upswept exhaust on the right-hand side.

Pricing and Competition

The Bajaj Bruzer is expected to get a price tag of about Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it won’t have any direct rivals. Alternatives will be other 100-110cc fuel-efficient bikes such as the Hero Splendor Plus, TVS Radeon, Honda Shine 100, and also Bajaj Platina 110.

The upcoming launch of Bajaj’s CNG motorcycle could prove to be a turning point for the Indian two-wheeler market. We can expect more details about the motorcycle as the launch in mid-2024 nears. Stay tuned for the latest updates on this revolutionary development in the automotive sector.
