Jawa has announced that the brand will be commencing deliveries on the much-awaited Jawa Perak Factory-Custom Bobber motorcycle from the 20th of July at all dealerships across India. The Jawa Perak was slated for deliveries starting 2nd of April but due to the COVID-19 situation and the lockdown, the deliveries were put on a hold.
Classic Legends PVT LTD, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, introduced the Jawa ‘Perak’, positioned as India’s first Factory-Custom bobber motorcycle that was officially launched on 15th November 2019 priced at INR 1,94,500 ex-showroom, Delhi. The bookings for the Jawa Perak commenced from 1st January 2020 but the company later announced that the deliveries of the Jawa Classic, Jawa Forty-Two and the Perak will be delayed due to the production limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Jawa motorcycles have a huge fan following and people still have maintained some immaculate examples of the original pre-1971 Jawa motorcycles. Classic Legends offers the same timeless machines offered with modern engines that are easier to maintain and source parts.
The Jawa Perak is powered by a BS6 compliant 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, electronically fuel-injected DOHC engine with cross port technology that produces 30.64 Bhp of power and 32.74 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. During the lockdown, the Perak product team managed to crank up the torque by nearly 2 Nm from its earlier 31 Nm which translates to more pulling power from a standstill. The uprated torque figure has been achieved by fine-tuning the engine and by employing the cross-port technology all while achieving BS6 conformity.
The Jawa Perak features custom styling and comes with double-cradle tubular frame, rounded headlamp and tail lamps, chopped fenders, single-seat in the tan finish, dark themed paint scheme, blacked-out body and engine with gold accents, a Softail look on the rear with a hidden 7-step adjustable suspension, telescopic front suspension and low slung twin exhausts.
The brand has also offered a range of easy finance options to help bikers acquire the Jawa Perak by offering finance options such as 50% off on first 3 EMIs, special EMI plan at INR 6,666/month, EMI plans as low as INR 8,000 at 2years and INR 6,000 at 3years, no income proof, zero downpayments and 100% funding.
