Jeep plans to bring the Wrangler to the Indian market via the CKD (Completely Knocked-Down) route. The CKD version is slated for launch on 15th March 2021 as per the official teaser and this move will significantly lower the price of the Wrangler in the Indian market.
The Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Rubicon
The fourth-generation Jeep Wrangler made its debut in India in 2019 priced at INR 63.94 lakh ex-showroom and the Wrangler Rubicon in the Indian market comes with prices starting at INR 68.94 lakh ex-showroom, India. Currently, the Jeep Wrangler and the Wrangler Rubicon comes to the Indian soil via the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route which attracts substantially more taxes than the CKD route.
Powertrains
Powering the India-specific Jeep Wrangler and the Wrangler Rubicon is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine producing 270 Hp of power and 400 Nm of torque matched to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. But the Wrangler Rubicon features a lot more off-road equipment such as NV241 4X4 4:1 low range 2-speed transfer case with Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials on the front and rear, full-time torque management system and electronically operated sway bar disconnect for improved articulation during off-road.

The Jeep Wrangler and Rubicon feature LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, 7-inch colour digital driver’s information display, 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, steering mounted controls, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, power-adjustable heated ORVMs etc.
Safety
In terms of safety, the Jeep Wrangler and the Rubicon features multiple airbags, hill start assist, hill descent control, trailer sway control, tyre pressure monitor, electronic stability control, electronic roll-over mitigation, rear parking camera, rear park assist, etc.

Jeep is also gearing up to introduce the 100% electric version of the Wrangler in the international market. The concept version of the Wrangler EV will make its debut at the Easter Jeep Safari in Spring.
