Citroën India starts delivery of ICE SUV Coupé Basalt

Citroen has announced that the French brand has commenced deliveries of the Basalt coupe SUV in the Indian market. The first customer to receive delivery of the Citroen Basalt from La Maison Citroen dealership in Delhi. The brand also revealed that the Citroen’s brand CEO Theirry Koskas, in presence of Shailesh Hazela, MD & CEO, Stellantis India and Shishir Mishra, Brand Head, Citroen India, presented the all-new Basalt to its first customer. Also, Citroen revealed that the Citroen dealerships across India have also commenced deliveries for the Basalt Coupe SUV.

Deliveries Commence

Citroen also revealed that the country’s first ICE SUV Coupe has received an overwhelming response from customers, thanks to its styling, comfort and innovative features. The brand is also inviting more people to experience the Basalt at Citroen showrooms to get a first hand experience of the Basalt. In addition to this, the company also plans to expand the dealership network in the Indian market as well as update its product portfolio, here in India. Further customer deliveries also commence starting today and handover ceremonies have been planned at various locations in India, revealed Citroen.

Price and Powertrains

The Citroen Basalt comes with a starting price of INR 7.99 lakh ex-showroom and is offered in two petrol variants. The Basalt comes with a 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated (NA) petrol engine producing 82 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox. In addition to this, the car is also available with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that develops 110 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Furthermore, the turbo-petrol version also comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic that makes 205 Nm of torque. Citroen also claims that the Basalt a fuel efficiency of 18 KMPL on the NA engine, 19.5 KMPL on the turbo-petrol manual and 18.7 KMPL on the turbo-petrol automatic.
