Citroen India has announced a new innovative usage based insurance (UBI) for the eC3 electric hatchback. To this end, the French carmaker has partnered with ICICI Lombard.

In UBI, there is a device that is connected to the vehicle. Using this, the vehicle usage as well as the driver behaviour is noted during the term of the current insurance. At the time of renewal, the premium is calculated based on the driving scores. These are valuations by the insurance company.
Further, the main advantage to the car owners is safe driving habits and savings on insurance premiums. Customers will also have access to their scores. Thus, they will also receive tips to improve their driving habits. Drivers who score high driving scores will get the maximum benefits.

Citroen eC3 : More Details
The Citroen eC3 is nothing but the all-electric variant of the C3. Visually, the eC3 looks identical to the petrol counterpart. Infact even the front end has no distinguishing features. Even the grille looks un-blanked, which for EVs is usually covered.
Offered in two variants, namely the Live and Feel, it gets features like a three-spoke steering wheel, height adjustable driver’s seat and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also boasts over 35 connected car features.
Citroen has equipped the eC3 with an electric motor that is mounted at the front. This motor generates 56 BHP and 143 Nm of peak torque. A 29.2 kWh battery pack has been paired with this motor. It gets a 3.3 kWh AC charger.
