French car manufacturer Citroen has announced a price hike for its flagship C5 Aircross SUV starting from 1st January 2022. Citroen has stated that there will be a 3% increase in ex-showroom prices for the existing Feel and Shine variants. According to the automaker, the continued rise in the cost of commodities & Ocean Freights is the reason behind the price hike. In the month of December, Citroen is currently offering exclusive attractive benefits for its C5 Aircross SUV customers.
This includes Insurance at INR 1, a Complimentary Smart Care package, and EMI options starting from INR 33,333/month. Citroen has stated that it will offer these new benefits alongside its 360-degree Comfort benefits for the SUV. The 30-min Guaranteed Trade-In and Citroen Service Promise include perks like a 180-minute Roadside Assistance guarantee and Virtual Remote Diagnosis. Additionally, the offer includes Complimentary pick-up & drop for periodic maintenance and a Complimentary Service On Wheels.
Featuring a double chevron design at the front, the C5 Aircross sports split LED headlamps and LED DRLs. Along with 360-degree glazed surfaces with curved side panels, the SUV features a chromed ‘C’ motif as a window garnish. Additionally, the SUV features rectangular LED tail lamps with four 3D lighting modules, black wheel arches, and roof rails.
The sides of the SUV reveal 18-inch, “SWIRL” themed, two-tone Diamond Cut Alloy wheels, black ORVM housings, and rock guards. The Citroen C5 Aircross sports four body colour options: Pearl White, Pearl Nera Black, Cumulus Gray, and Tijuaca Blue. Citroen offers the Pearl White, Cumulus Gray, and Tijuaca Blue coloured C5 Aircross with an optional dual-tone black painted roof.
Citroen has equipped the SUV with a BS6-compliant, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine producing 177 PS and 400 Nm. With the engine paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the SUV offers 18.6 kmpl of fuel economy. Citroen has also stated that the C5 Aircross sold in India will only get a diesel powertrain with no petrol option. The French SUV sports a “Grip Control” system with 4 Standard traction modes (ESC), Snow, All-Terrain, and Sand.
In November 2021, Citroen India announced a price hike of INR 1.4 lakh for its C5 Aircross SUV. The French automaker had launched the SUV in April 2021 with two variants- ‘Feel’ and ‘Shine’. With an INR 1.4 lakh price hike, the monotone ‘Feel’ variant now costs INR 31.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Style now costs an additional INR 90,000, bringing the price tag to INR 32.8 lakh (ex-showroom).
