Citroën Basalt Vision is a new compact SUV Coupé for India

Citroen has announced that the brand will debut a new compact SUV Coupe in the Indian market. The Citroen Basalt Vision Compact SUV Coupe will arrive on the 27th March 2024. According to the brand, its ‘first forms’ will be revealed at 4:30 PM(IST) via the brand’s social media channels. However, the brand has not revealed any details of the compact SUV Coupé made by Citroën.

Citroen Basalt Vision – Design

The brand is currently running a teaser campaign for the Citroen Basalt Vision and no details except the tail section silhouette has been revealed. According to the teaser image, the Basalt Vision features a wraparound tail lamp with unique light signatures. The compact SUV coupe also features a sloping roofline that end far into the tailgate. The teaser image also reveals an aerodynamic rear section with a shark-fin antenna and what appears to be hinges connecting the roof and tailgate.

Citroen Basalt Vision – Features

While the design of the Basalt Vision is unknown, it is likely to come with typical Citroen light signatures on the front. The compact SUV coupe is likely to come with a boxy headlamp and double chevron on the grille. The Citroen Basalt Vision is also likely to come with multiple exterior colour options, 17-inch alloy wheels, digital instruments cluster, a large infotainment screen, wireless charging and ventilated front seats.

Citroen Basalt Vision – Powertrain Speculation

Speculation is that the Citroen Basalt Vision is likely to be based on the CMP (Common Modular Platform). In addition to this, the Basalt Vision is likely to come with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. The venerable powertrain from Citroen already does duty on the C3 and C3 Aircross SUVs. The engine produces 109 Bhp of power and 205 Nm of torque. Citroen is likely to offer either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with the Basalt Vision.
