Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the limited edition Maybach by Virgil Abloh of the S-680. The exterior outlook gets a two-tone finish. The upper part of the vehicle gets a glossy obsidian black finish. Meanwhile, the lower part, along with the side flank, gets a touch of sand blue. The fully equipped Mercedes-Maybach S-Class gets the customization and craftsmanship work of the team in Sindelfingen.
Mercedes-Benz confirmed that only 150 units of these will eventually make it onto the roads. This limited edition is an honour for the iconic fashion designer Virgil Abloh who passed away last November. As of now, there’s no mention of the price. But given the luxury and premium touches, we expect the price to breach the USD 200,000 mark. This marvellous piece of craft is an outcome of the collaboration of Abloh and Mercedes’s chief design officer Gorden Wagener.
Matching the exciting exterior touch, the interiors too define the epitome of luxury. The same two-tone colour scheme is made available for the interiors. The steering wheel, doors, lower dashboard and ceiling get a black and sand-coloured Nappa leather with a touch of sand-coloured décor trims and strips. Furthermore, redefining the luxuries are the window frames and a special Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo on the black piano middle of the centre console, rear cushions, head restraints and door sill panel. In terms of infotainment, the S-CLass gets an enhanced version of the Maybach MBUX suite.
To extend the exclusiveness, customers also get a special custom-made wooden box covered in sand-coloured Nappa leather emblazoned with the Mercedes‑Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo. Inside this, customers will find a 1/18 scale replica of the limited-edition car, the two-car keys and a carabiner hook. In addition to this, customers will also get a special car cover featuring the Mercedes‑Maybach and Virgil Abloh logos.
