Citroen recently unveiled its new corporate brand identity and logo. Along with that, the French brand also teased the first model that will use the new logo. And Citroen has fully revealed the new concept – Oli. Citroen says the Oli is not a car. Instead, it is a multi-purpose everyday extension to your life that is as useful when you aren’t driving it as when you are. The Citroen Oli builds on innovative Ami with ways to make mobility joyful, responsible, affordable and multi-useful, says Citroen.
Citroen Oli Concept – What Is It?
To put it in short, the Citroen Oli is a quirky all-electric pickup made from recycled materials. But there’s a lot more to it than that. As mentioned, it is also the first model to use Citroen’s new logo. Following the Oli Concept, Citroen will use the new logo on its production cars starting next year. For now, the Oli Concept is a lab on wheels meant for testing various technologies and for Citroen to experiment upon.
Citroen Oli Concept – Highlights
The Oli Concept measures 4.2-metre in length and has a similar playful design language as the Ami. At the front, it gets a vertical windshield and the new Citroen logo. Being an all-electric model, it does not get a grille. The logo’s Infra-Red finish matches with the frame of the windshield, wheel caps, bumper accents, as well as the entire cabin. The Oli Concept sports C-shaped LED headlights with integrated inlets. The taillights also follow a similar pattern.
At the back, the highlight is the rear bed. Citroen made this using recycled cardboard and remains hidden thanks to the upwards-opening rear windscreen. The compartment is removable and expandable, thanks to the folding tailgate.
Getting inside the Oli Concept is also easy, thanks to the suicide doors for easy access. Once on the inside, you are greeted with four individual seats in Citroen’s Infra-Red colour. Citroen has made the seats using Thermoplastic Polyurethane and also has 3D-printed mesh on the backrests. The design of the dashboard is minimalistic, and it gets a 2-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel. Additionally, the dashboard also features removable Bluetooth speakers. There’s no touchscreen or infotainment display. Instead, it uses a smartphone dock and a couple of toggle switches for the air-conditioning.
Citroen Oli Concept – Weight, Battery & Range
Although the Oli Concept is an all-electric car, it tips the scales at a fairly low 1,000 kg. This also results in a low 10 kWh / 100 km consumption. Thus, with its 40 kWh battery pack, Citroen claims it will deliver 400 km of range. The Oli Concept can also charge from 20-80% in just 23 minutes. The electric pickup also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G). The French brand did not announce any output figures. However, as it focuses more on efficiency, the top speed is limited to 110 kmph.
