Check out the Zontes 125M maxi-scooter

Most scooters are equipped with a small displacement in India. Similarly, in most other Asian countries and in Europe, the smaller displacement engines are quite popular. Hence, Zontes, a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer has come up with a new maxi-scooter. Dubbed as the Zontes 125M, this scooter is primarily targeted towards beginners.

Priced at US$ 4,567, that is INR 3.77 lakh, the scooter was recently launched in the European market. 

In terms of design, the scooter comes with sporty angular body panels along with LED lights at the front and back. It gets a large seat for two occupants and a smoked windscreen for protection from the wind. Overall, the scooter looks pretty similar to its largest sibling the 310M. 

Powertrain and other features of the Zontes 125M maxi-scooter

Coming to the engine bit, the maxi-scooter is equipped with a 124cc liquid cooled, fuel injected engine. This has a peak power of 14.5 HP. The output is particularly interesting as it is under the A1 licensing limits. 

The front suspension consists of telescopic forks while the rear get two position preload-adjustable shock absorbers. The 125M also comes with a digital TFT display and a keyless ignition. The fuel lid is electronically actuated. 

Zontes has equipped the 125M maxi-scooter with disc brakes on both ends, but it is not yet known if they have ABS or come equipped with a combined braking system. 

Delivery of the Zontes 125M maxi-scooter

The first deliveries have been scheduled for the French market by 31 March 2023. Other countries in the European Union will see deliveries commencing from the second quarter of 2023.

Zontes in India

Back in 2022, Moto Vault launched the Zontes’ 350cc range of motorcycles in the Indian market. Pricing for these motorcycles starts at INR 3.15 lakh ex-showroom. Meanwhile, the most expensive model will set you back by INR 3.67 lakh ex-showroom. There are a lot of available options. Customers can opt for a Naked Sports motorcycle, Cafe Racer, or an Adventure motorcycle with wire-spoke wheels.
