The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet, a stunning blend of luxury and performance, has been revealed in the international markets. This model serves as an indirect successor to the E53 Coupe. It’s not just a CLE 53 coupe with the roof chopped off, but a car that has been meticulously designed and engineered to deliver a unique driving experience.
The CLE 53 Cabriolet is a sight to behold. It’s muscular and mean, with a distinctive AMG look. Compared to the standard CLE, the 53 gets a new front bumper, an AMG-style Panamericana grille, a large rear spoiler, and a diffuser. The wider wheel arches enhance its aggressive look, making it 58 mm wider at the front and 75 mm wider at the rear. The optional AMG Optics pack adds even more styling changes.
The interior of the CLE 53 Cabriolet is as impressive as its exterior. The AMG Performance seats are excellent wquipped with rich materials. The central touchscreen can be tilted more vertically to reduce reflections when you’re driving with the roof down.
Under the hood, the CLE 53 Cabriolet houses a 3.0-liter straight-six engine that is turbocharged and electrically supercharged. This engine, combined with a 48V Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), delivers a power output of 442 bhp at 5800-6100rpm and a torque of 560 Nm at 1800-5000rpm1. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds. It boasts if a top speed of 250 kmph which can be upped to 270 kmph with the optional AMG pack.
The CLE 53 Cabriolet also features AMG’s Speedshift nine-speed transmission and 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. The rear-wheel steering is standard, improving agility at lower speeds and stability at higher speeds.
The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet is a car that can be enjoyed at a cruise or at pace. It’s a closer rival to the BMW M440i than the BMW M4.
