Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of six exclusive performance vehicles to celebrate Mercedes-AMG’s 55th birthday. These models also include the A 45 4MATIC and the CLA 45 4MATIC. The addition in the ‘Edition 55’ models consists of an AMG Aerodynamics package. With this, the front apron gets a larger front splitter and also additional flics.
In the rear, we get to see an AMG-branded rear wing and deflector elements at the side air outlets of the rear apron. All these elements get a high gloss finish, thus making the outlook even more attractive. Mercedes mentioned that these added kits will also enhance the driving manners of the vehicles at high speeds. These exclusive ‘Edition 55’ models are available for an additional EUR 12,614. The price mentioned is for Germany, including 19 per cent VAT.
Exterior Outlook
Customers have two appearance packages to choose from, The AMG Night package and the AMG Night package II. Some of the key differentiating packages of the ‘Edition 55’ include paint finish in Cosmos Black Metallic or Digital White Metallic, and 19-inch AMG cross-spoke wheels finished in Titanium Grey with high-sheen rim flange. The AMG fuel filler cap in silver chrome is also an eye candy, which signifies Mercedes Benz’s focus on attention to detail.
Interiors
In the interiors, we have the contrast of black and red. The AMG Performance seats get two-tone classic red/black leather. The driver will also appreciate the AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre with the “Edition 55” badge. On the door sill panels, we have red illuminated AMG lettering and black AMG floor mats that get contrasting red stitching with “Edition 55” lettering woven in red.
Other Updates
Customers can also opt for a customised AMG Indoor Car Cover. The company mentioned that the breathable outer panelling made of tear-resistant synthetic fibre fabric and antistatic inner fabric made of flannel helps protect the car from dust and scratches.
