Honda has launched the new Honda Sahara 300 in the international market. The Honda Sahara 300 replaces the XRE 300 adventure motorcycle in Brazil and is now compatible with E100 fuel. Smaller and affordable adventure motorcycles are gaining popularity around the globe, however, Honda has not yet revealed if the brand plans to introduce the Sahara 300 in India.
Powering the Honda Sahara 300 is a 293.5cc single-cylinder air-cooled single-OHC four-stroke engine. The engine produces 24.8 Hp of power and 26.5 Nm of torque on petrol. On 100% Ethanol the engine produces 25.2 Hp of power and 26.9 Nm of torque. The electronic injection PGM-FI engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox and an electric starter.
The Honda Sahara 300 comes with a semi double cradle chassis made for adventure touring. The motorcycle comes with a 1425mm wheelbase and 269mm ground clearance, 859mm seat height and a dry weight between 147 and 149 kgs depending on the variant.
The Honda Sahara 300 comes with telescopic front fork with 221mm of travel on the front and Pro-Link with monoshock on the rear with 225mm of travel. The motorcycle comes with 256mm front and 22mm rear disc brakes and 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wire rims. The motorcycle also comes with a 13.8-litre fuel tank.
The Honda Sahara 300 which is the successor to the XRE 300 comes with new body and graphics. The motorcycle comes with an upright adventure motorcycle design with a high-mount fairing and windscreen. The motorcycle also has a slim profile and scooped seats and a raised fuel tank design.
In addition to this, the motorcycle also comes with a new instruments cluster along with a type-C USB charger to enable long distance rider with the ease of charging electronic equipments on the go. The Sahara 300 also comes with a preload adjustable suspension to enable riders make adjustment according to the terrain and load. For safety Honda also offers the Sahara 300 with dual channel ABS.
