Check out the F1 fan voted Gulf Oil & Williams Racing livery

Gulf Oil International and Williams Racing have announced a new livery. This livery will be selected after a fan vote. Williams Racing will use this livery at the Singapore, Japanese and Qatar Grand Prix. The partnership is dubbed as Gulf x Williams Racing.

The Iconic Gulf Livery

The blue and orange Gulf Livery has been quite popular over the years. Over time, Gulf has also been associated with motorsport for a long time. Gulf’s iconic paint jobs have been applied on a long list of motorsport vehicles.

Selection of the Livery

There will be three rounds of voting. The first round took place on May 26. After all three rounds of voting, the final livery will be announced on 12th July, 2023. This will first be displayed on a WIlliams F1 car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Fans will be able to choose from four designs – Bolder than Bold, Visionary, Heritage and Contemporary.

The final design will be adorned by the FW45 race cars, along with the racing suits of drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant. It will also be shared across all team social media platforms over the Singapore, Japan and Qatar weekends. The Gulf x Williams Racing initiative is a reflection of the two entity’s partnership and fan interaction.

Williams in Formula 1

Officially Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited, the Williams Racing Formula 1 Team was founded by Frank Williams and Patrick Head back in 1977. The team is one of the only four constructors in the Formula 1 history to secure 100 race wins. The others include Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes. From 1980 to 1997, the Williams Racing Team one nine constructors championships. This was only surpassed by Ferrari after it won the 10th championship in 2000.
