Check out the 152 HP Honda CB1000 Hornet

Honda has officially unveiled the CB1000 Hornet, a mid-range performance sports bike that promises to deliver exhilarating power and agility. The CB1000 Hornet is powered by a 999cc in-line four, water-cooled engine that produces an impressive 152 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm.

Design and Features

The CB1000 Hornet features a sleek and aggressive design, with sharp lines and a muscular stance. The front end design is reminiscent of the Ducati Streetfighter V4, with a headlight divided into two angular pods. The bike’s frame is made of an aluminum twin-spar, providing a solid foundation for its powerful engine. The standard model comes with fully adjustable Showa USD forks and a monoshock, while the higher-spec SP variant boasts Ohlins TTX36 monoshock at the rear and Brembo Stylema calipers.

Performance and Specifications

The CB1000 Hornet is equipped with twin 310 mm disc brakes at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, gripped by Nissin calipers. The SP variant steps up the braking performance with Brembo Stylema calipers. The bike also features a bi-directional quick-shifter as standard on the SP model and as an option on the regular model. With a 17-liter fuel tank, the CB1000 Hornet offers a decent range for long rides.

Riding Modes and Electronics

The CB1000 Hornet comes with five riding modes – three standard and two customizable – along with ABS, engine brake control, traction control, and power modes. The bike also features a five-inch full-color TFT screen, Honda RoadSync connectivity, and Honda’s Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) as standard.

Market Impact and Customer Reception

Priced at around INR 10 lakh for the base model and INR 11 lakh for the SP variant, the CB1000 Hornet offers a competitive option in the mid-range performance bike segment. Its combination of power, advanced features, and aggressive styling is expected to attract a wide range of buyers. While there is no confirmation on whether the CB1000 Hornet will be launched in India, its global debut at EICMA 2024 has generated significant interest.
