Bangalore-based A-Thon AllTerrain Pvt Ltd has unveiled the Ashva 4×4. This all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is not just another addition to the market; it’s the first of its kind to be entirely made in India.
The Ashva 4×4 is a 2-seater 4-wheel-drive ATV2. It is based on a space frame chassis and measures 3,556 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 2,010 mm in height. With a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, the vehicle weighs 850 kg and has a cargo capacity of 60 kg.
At the heart of the Ashva 4×4 lies a potent 976cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine. It is available in two states of tune. The base variant packs a respectable 71 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 85 Nm @ 5,500 rpm2. The higher-spec engine delivers an exhilarating 85 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 101 Nm @ 5,500 rpm2. Both variants are equipped with a 2-step CVT and an on-demand 2WD and 4WD system with locking differentials.
The Ashva 4×4’s performance credentials are further bolstered by its impressive terrain-tackling abilities2. With a claimed capability of climbing up to a 65-degree slope and navigating side slopes of up to 45 degrees, this ATV is designed to conquer even the most challenging landscapes.
Ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride, the Ashva 4×4 features a double-wishbone front suspension with dual-rated coilover shock absorbers and a trailing arm setup at the rear with camber links2. Disc brakes on all four corners provide reliable and responsive braking, ensuring maximum control and safety in demanding off-road conditions.
A-Thon has positioned the Ashva 4×4 as a farm utility product, offering three distinct variants to cater to diverse agricultural needs. The V1 variant comes equipped with a fixed front and rear hitch for agricultural attachments and accessories. The V2 version boasts a rear PTO (Power Take-Off). The top-of-the-line V3 variant takes things a step further, incorporating autonomous features and data-centric crop management systems.
