Ferrari did an online launch of it’s F1 2016 challenger- the SF16-H. Ferrari was the first F1 team to showcase it’s 2016 car and has made quite a few changes to it.
On first glance itself, one can see the changes Ferrari engineers have made. The nose of the F1 car is shorter and higher, which will have effects on the aerodynamics of the car. The suspension has been updated from a pull rod to push rod, a major change which will greatly affect the handling.
Mechanically, the engine and turbo have been reworked to improve the combustion, this will greatly improve performance of the vehicle. Visually, the livery has been heavily reworked with a lot of white now overshadowing the scarlet red.
Hopefully with this updated car, Ferrari can put the pressure on Mercedes. Last year Mercedes won the constructors title by 275 points and Hamilton was leading Vettel by 103 points. This year Ferrari will have to go all out to give Mercedes some competition.
It’s going to be a great season, one will only have to wait and watch what happens! Not too long till the lights go out in Australia.
