Cheaper by INR 1,648 – TVS NTorq 125 gets drum brake variant

India’s first connected scooter, TVS Ntorq 125 has been quite popular in the Indian market. TVS achieved 1 lakh unit sales mark in just 7 months after launching the scooter. The popular scooter came only in a disc brake variant, but now TVS dealerships have started accepted bookings for the drum brake variant as well. The TVS Ntorq 125 gets hydraulic disc brakes on the front wheel which will be replaced by a mechanical drum type brake, equipped with CBS and the drum brake model will be cheaper than the disc brake variant by INR 3,700 in Mumbai.

The TVS Ntorq 125 will remain unchanged in the engine department and will be powered by the same 124.79cc, single-cylinder, air/fan cooled, 3-valve engine producing 9.4 PS of power and 10.5 Nm of torque coupled to an automatic CVT-i. The chassis is a rectangular tube type high-rigidity underbone chassis and rides on a telescopic front and hydraulic gas type coil spring shock absorber on the rear. The Ntorq 125 weighs 116.1 kg (Kerb).

The brakes on the TVS Ntorq 125 are a 220mm hydraulic disc brake on the front and a 130 mm mechanical drum on the rear. The new drum variant will receive a CBS equipped mechanical drum on both the front and rear.

The TVS Ntorq 125 is the first scooter in India to have connected technology with features such as Bluetooth connectivity, navigation assistance, last parked location assist, caller identification and ride status which can be shared on social media platforms. The featur rich fully digital instrument display can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth technology and TVS also has a dedicated application for it available on Google Play.

The TVS Ntorq 125 is available in 6 colour options, 3 Matte colours and 3 Metallic colours which are as follows:-

  • Matte Yellow
  • Matte White
  • Matte Red
  • Metallic Blue
  • Metallic Grey
  • Metallic Red

The TVS Ntorq 125 is priced at INR 65,362 (Disc Brakes) ex-showroom, Mumbai and INR 61,662 (Drum Brakes) ex-showroom, Mumbai. The difference between the two models is INR 3,700 in Mumbai. In Delhi, the scooter costs INR 59,900 ex-showroom, Delhi for the disc brake variant and the drum brake variant costs INR 58,252 ex-showroom, Delhi where the price difference between the two models comes to INR 1,648 in Delhi.
