CFMoto has showcased a variant of its popular 450SR. Unlike the fully faired version, the new bike gets few mechanical changes. Called the 450SR S, CFMoto has also given it some different looks to distinguish it from its siblings.
What’s new in the CFMoto 450SR S?
The new S variant comes with a single-side swing arm at the back instead of the usual double-sided swingarm as seen on the 450SR. Thanks to this, the right side of the bike now appears much cleaner than before. Further the eye-catching red alloys are fully available to be seen thanks to the missing swingarm. Keen-eyed viewers might recollect that the SR-C21, on which the 450SR is based was first showcased with a single-side swing arm.
Coming to the changes in the body of the motorcycle, CFMoto has incorporated a few changes. The front is now more aggressive in design thanks to the incorporation of new winglets. Usually, such winglets help in delivering extra downforce at higher speeds, but they are purely cosmetical in the 450SR S. There is also a new stubby under belly exhaust and CFMoto is now offering two paint schemes. These are the Zircon Black and Starlight White.
Powertrain of the CFMoto 450SR S
There has been no change to the powertrain of the bike. CFMoto continues to use the 450cc, parallel twin engine with liquid cooling. It has a 270 degree crankshaft and develops 50 BHP and 39 Nm of peak torque. The kerb weight of the bike is 168 kg.
The 450SR S comes with upside-down shock absorbers at the front and a mono shock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a single disc at both ends.
Launch and availability of the CFMoto 450SR S
The bikemaker has already launched the 450SR S in the Chinese market. However, it is not yet clear if we could get an Indian launch. If launched, this bike could head against the likes of the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.
