When CFMoto announced their plans for India, they made quite some noise especially with their pricing strategy which undercuts Japanese rivals. The Chinese manufacturer CFMoto will be introducing 4 motorcycles in India and their showroom is now open in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Designed in Austria by Kiska, the company has set base in Bengaluru in India and will retail 300cc – 650cc motorcycles in our market. CFMoto claims that they have received over 700 bookings already. The CFMoto 300 NK has been priced at INR 2.29 lakh, 650 NK priced at INR 3.99 lakh, 650 MT for INR 4.99 lakh and 650 GT for INR 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bookings for all CFMoto motorcycles are now open and the brand plans to have 50 operational dealerships by 2021. Bookings can also be made online by paying a sum of INR 5,000. Prices of the motorcycles are already very competitive, but the brand is looking at high levels of localisation which will drive down the costs further allowing for more customer entering the showrooms.
The CFMoto 300 NK comes powered by a 294.2cc, single-cylinder motor producing 34 PS of power and 20.5 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The CFMoto 650 NK comes with a 649.3cc, parallel-twin motor producing 61.1 PS of power and 56 Nm of torque to rival the Kawasaki Ninja 650. The 650 MT adventure tourer comes with the same 649cc, twin-cylinder motor but produces 70.7 PS of power and 62 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox with a large 18L fuel tank. The CFMoto 650 GT is a sports tourer 649.3cc motor producing 62.5 PS of power and 58.5 Nm of torque with a touring nature for long distance highway riding. Point to note here is that the same 650cc motor in 3 bikes is tuned differently and produces a new power and torque figure.
Premium motorcycle segment is slowly and steadily growing in India and at the right price, CFMoto is trying to make inwards in the market.
